Final Grade Calculator

Find out what you need on your final exam — or what your final grade will be. Works for any class with a final.

How it's calculated

Final grade = (Current grade × (100% − exam weight)) + (Exam grade × exam weight)

Example: your current grade is 82% and your final is worth 25%. Scoring 70% on the exam gives (82 × 0.75) + (70 × 0.25) = 61.5 + 17.5 = 79%.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a final exam worth in Alberta high school?

It depends on your school — your course outline has the exact number:

What grade do I need on my final exam?

  1. Start with the grade you want

  3. Divide what's left by the exam weight

This calculator does all of that for you — and tells you when the grade you want is already guaranteed or out of reach.

Does the Grade 9 PAT affect my final grade?
